learningpath2

Our Scheduling Best Practice Guidelines for Primavera P6 video training class follows our Primavera P6 Professional Fundamentals class and allows you to sharpen your schedule building skills. The Topics covered in each lesson are as follows:

Introduction - introduces the training course, it's purpose, its sources and an overview of the course content.
Lesson 1 - Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): learn how to correctly build a good WBS with the appropriate content and level of detail.
Lesson 2 - Activities: learn the guidelines concerning the use of activities, their durations, naming conversions, IDs and other attributes that should be considered when creating activities.
Lesson 3 - Dependencies: As a key component in any schedule, dependencies (relationships) attract a lot of best practice guidelines. Learn about each of the most critical guidelines that affect the relationships you choose in your schedule and what a compliant critical path should look like.
Lesson 4 - Constraints: another area of best practice standards that draws much debate, how and when to use constraints, what types of constraints are best, and what types should be avoided in P6 - or indeed any scheduling tool for that matter.
Lesson 5 - High Float: Too much high float can fail your schedule with DOD and other government customers. The lesson covers how to identify the condition of high float, why it’s bad and how to cure it.
Lesson 6 - Negative Float: Another condition that can fail schedules with government entities is negative float. What does negative float alert you too and why might your customer object to its presence in a schedule.
Lesson 7 - Invalid Dates: In this lesson, learn what an invalid date is and how to locate it in your schedule.
Lesson 8 - Resources: what are the best practice guidelines regarding the assignment of resources to activities in your schedule. Why are resource assignments preferred and what benefits do they bring.
Lesson 9 - Baselines: Why do we need a baseline in our schedule? What can't we do without it and why is it so universally insisted upon in virtually every scheduling guideline?
Lesson 10 - Course Summary: a summary look at all the key principals covered in this course.
